The 8th grade social studies class enjoyed a new experience; they skyped with another social studies class in Philipsburg, Pennsylvania.  Mrs. Gano and Mrs. Ferguson, the teacher in PA, set up the experience for the students through their own skyping and emailing.  Students in each class were able to ask questionsand learn about life in the other school.  We were able to see our new friends on our Smartboard, while they watched us on their auditorium screen.  We had to work out a schedule since they are in the eastern time zone, which means they are an hour ahead of us.  Then we were ready and had to postpone due to weather and late school starts.  Finally the day arrived and all went smoothly.  We hope we can do this again, and perhaps add another thread of technology to our experience.
