Update

Graettinger-Terril and Ruthven-Ayrshire Families:

We hope that everyone is taking the necessary precautions to keep themselves and their families safe from the COVID-19 virus.  This Friday, March 27, 2020, we are halfway through the four weeks of school closure recommended by Governor Reynolds.

Updates:

School Closure

Both district schools are scheduled to resume on Monday, April 13, 2020.  We currently have Monday, April 13, 2020, listed as an Easter vacation day on our school calendars.   If we are permitted by the Governor to resume school on Monday, April 13, 2020, we will resume on that date.

Learning Opportunities

The teachers are providing a variety of learning opportunities for the students in both districts.  We ask that students and families check their emails daily for any new information. Besides all the learning opportunities, the counselors are sending out self-care and emotional care information.  The counselors want to make sure all students have the opportunity to reach out to them and talk with them about any concerns they have at this time.

Food Service Meals

Both districts are currently offering both a breakfast and a lunch meal for the children of the communities.  Graettinger-Terril has pick up sites in both Graettinger and Terril and Ruthven-Ayrshire has pick up sites in both Ruthven and Ayrshire.  Both districts are making deliveries to our rural families. The pick-up sites in all communities are open from 9:00 a.m to 10:00 a.m. with rural deliveries also being made at this time.  The Food Service Directors, cooks delivery drivers and volunteers in both districts are going above and beyond to make these meals available to our students. Thank you!

Graduation and Prom

These are both important events in the lives of our students and families and no decision has been made on these events.  We will continue to monitor the ongoing situation and will make any decision on these events at a later date based on the information at that time.

Athletics

Currently, all spring athletics are on hold during the school closure at the direction of the Iowa High School Athletic Association and Iowa Girls High School Athletic Association.  We will continue to follow the guidance offered by these organizations and will keep our families updated as new information is provided.

Stay Safe, Stay Strong, Stay Healthy and Stay Happy - We are looking forward to getting back to school.
