COVID 19

Dear Graettinger-Terril Students, Parents/Guardian, Teachers, Staff, and Community:

We would like to thank you all for your continued patience and understanding as we navigate this unprecedented situation involving COVID-19. There is undoubtedly uncertainty, stress, and complications that are happening in everyone's lives.

  • Governor Reynold announced today that schools will remain closed through April 30, 2020.

  • There are two options to provide instruction from the Department of Education. They are termed "Voluntary Educational Enrichment Opportunities (VEEO)" and "Required Educational Services".  BOTH options count as "continuous learning" and therefore time missed does not need to be made up.

  • We will continue to provide “Voluntary Education Enrichment Opportunities”  during the time of closure through online and other methods.

    • Parents, please assure that your students remain engaged in learning opportunities during this time by checking in regularly with their teachers by monitoring their email, Google Classroom, Facebook pages, Remind, etc.

  • New information will continue to be communicated primarily through email. Please be sure you are checking your email daily to stay up to date on any directions from the school.

  • All buildings on campus at both Graettinger and Terril will continue to be closed to EVERYONE until further notice except for essential personnel at the discretion of the Superintendent. This will include all school facilities. No access will be allowed for any reason.

  • We will continue providing grab and go breakfasts/lunches and rural delivery by request to all students at the Graettinger and Terril locations Monday through Thursday.  If you have not yet signed up, please follow this link to sign up for lunches. This will help us get a count of how many lunches we need to prepare. COVID-19 Lunch Program Signup

  • Students taking online College and/or Odysseyware courses will need to continue to complete work as assigned.  If internet access is an issue, please contact the school. Mrs. Naig is available via email and phone if students need assistance with Odysseyware courses.

  • Governor Reynolds holds a daily press briefing to provide updates on COVID-19.  Ann Lebo, the Director of the Department of Education, also continues to provide schools with updates and guidance.  We will continue to update staff and patrons as appropriate based on the outcome of these briefings.

We understand that there will be a lot of questions forthcoming and we may or may not be able to answer depending on the information that we have received from the state of Iowa, Department of Education, IDPC and CDC.

As always, thank you for your patience and understanding as we navigate this unwanted situation.
